This past week, four individuals signed commitments to play sports at the college level: Talia Emmen committed to playing volleyball at Shaw University, Kito Douglas committed to playing football at Allen University, Gabriell White committed to playing basketball at Morris College, and Mariya Gregg committed to playing volleyball at St. Andrew's College.
Talia Emmen, who is committed to play at Shaw University, expressed her enthusiasm for the school after developing a strong relationship with her future coach and team; something she didn't anticipate happening so quickly. She plans to major in exercise science to pursue a career as a physical therapist and intends to continue honing her skills to excel in volleyball...
Kito Douglas, the football player committed to Allen University, was drawn to the school after feeling welcomed by the coaching staff and team during a visit. Inspired by his parents' hard work, he plans to major in Business and dedicate himself to training both on and off the field to prepare for college football.
Gabriell "Gabby" White, the basketball player committed to Morris College, was captivated by the team's dynamic and felt she could contribute positively. Driven by her love for the game and its intensity, she aims to major in sports medicine with aspirations of becoming a physical therapist. She is committed to maintaining her academic performance, physical conditioning, and skill development to thrive in the college environment.
Mariya Gregg, the volleyball player committed to St. Andrew's, was impressed by the coach's efforts to build a relationship with her and her family early in the recruitment process. Motivated by her desire to make her family proud, she plans to pursue a pre-med track to become a doctor. She acknowledges the need to enhance her physical conditioning, particularly her quad strength, to adapt to the increased competition at the college level.
In conclusion, the commitment of Talia Emmen, Kito Douglas, Gabriell White, and Mariya Gregg to pursue their athletic and academic goals at the collegiate level is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion for their respective sports. As they embark on this new chapter in their lives, they carry with them not only their athletic talents but also their aspirations for personal and professional growth. With determination, perseverance, and a strong support system, these student-athletes are poised to make meaningful contributions both on and off the field, representing their schools with pride and excellence. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors and look forward to witnessing their continued success.
