Wilson's football team plays the majority of their games on Friday night kickoff starting at 7:30. Unfortunately the team had a losing record last year and ending the season 5-6 losing , Hoping for a better outcome this season Go Tigers!!
This Friday Wilson takes on a huge rival game against Darlington. Wilson hasn’t been able to pull off a win since the first game against Aynor. This week the team has been trying to bounce back from a huge loss against Hilton Head 43-0 making sure they emphasize athleticism in practice.
Offensively blocking something that they have been working on through practice; because Darlington has a defense that likes to rush the quarterback. In addition to that Coach Mooney states that blocking was one of the reasons why quarterback Tristan Howard was one of the reasons that he went 8 for 25 last game.
Defensively Wilson is going to have to bring their game. With the allowing almost thirty points each Friday. A Multitude of Coaches has stated that in order to win the game the defense is going to have to be very athletic and communicate to make sure that the offense gets enough time to score the ball.
Darlington has recently been on a roll late and had a great start to their season. However, something that has really troubled them during the season is not being as disciplined as most teams, gaining lots of penalties in their previous games. Darlington is hoping to be able to stop ECU commit Jyron Waiters from having too many touches, and making every drive count.
This Friday is a highly anticipated game and a good dog fight. Hopefully with the week of practice.Wilson is prepared and ready to pull off the win beating the odds.

This past Friday Wilson Football traveled to Hilton head to take on the sea hawks losing 43-0 Ti’Monti Emmanuel with 28 rushing yards and MyQuan McWhite with 36 receiving yards Defensively Divine Gee had a great game recording 11 solo tackles and one assisted tackle. Coach stated that “an extremely slow start” was on of the main reason that they weren’t able to pull off the
Offense was a bit of a struggle not being able to put points on the board. With Hilton Head rushing the offense, Quarterback Tristan Howard went 8-25 not being able to connect on a lot of just throws; However Coach Mooney states that with this blocking was something that caused a lot of these bad throws.
Defensively, the energy was quite low stated by a multitude of coaches. During the game Divine Gee was having a very good game with 11 solo tackles. But they often struggled with not being aggressive as they needed to be.
Overall with this losing streak the energy of the team has tended to decrease in their confidence, but with playing Darlington, Coach plans to emphasize on being physical in this week of practice. Also with playing this week the energy is starting to pick up as they get ready to play their rivals Friday at 7:30.
