Cross Country Results 9/19
This cross country meet took place on September 19th, at West Florence High School. Together, the girls team placed 2nd overall, and the boys placed 7th. Each meet, the team as a whole tries their best to get better.
Cross Country Meet Results Girls
In the latest cross country meet, Wilson's Tyra Benbow finished strong placing 7th overall with a time of 24:58.80, coming in first for Wilson. Aaliyah McNeil also showcased her talent securing the 9th place with a time of 26:51.00, coming in second for Wilson.
The Wilson team displayed remarkable teamwork, with Shakayla Burroughs, Rokel Sanders, Hayden Robinson, Leah Spears, Sharetta Jones, Stary Samuel, Christyanna Hyman, Miya Harris, Alexandria Rodgers, Lakin Fleming, Emma Glanz, and Jenasys Jackson (all placed in order of finishing).
Wilson Secured an impressive place, earning a total of 52 points and an average time of 26:54 minutes.
Cross Country Meet Results Boys
The cross country meet was a three mile competition with a total of 94 boys participating. Joseph Hall from Wilson gave a great performance, securing 44th place overall and coming in first for his team with an impressive time of 23:55.60. Another standout runner from Wilson was Hugh Granger, who claimed 64th place with a time of 26:09.20.
The Wilson boys team showcased their determination and teamwork, with Kevin Pennella, Brett Granger, Cordae Hanner, Keith Smalls, Fahad Safdar, and Noah Angus all crossing the finish line.
In total, seven different schools participated in the race, making it a competitive event. Wilson's boys team scored 207 points, earning them a respectable 7th place finish. Their average time for the race was 26:04 minutes.

Shakayla Burroughs, the head captain, zoomed across the finish line with an amazing time of 24:39.70! Not far behind, co captain Tyra Benbow finished with a time of 26:12.80. But wait, there's more!
The rest of the team, including Hayden Robinson, Aaliyah McNeil, Rokel Sanders, Stary Samuel, Miya Harris, Aaliyah Dudley-Thomas, Madeline Campbell, Christyanna Hyman, Alexandria Rodgers, Emma Glanz, Zarya McNeil, Jenasys Jackson, and Lamyreona Cabbagestalk, brought their A-game and rocked the course! Together, they formed a strong force, placing 1st out of all the teams present! A total of 29 girls ran their best. Leaving the competition in the dust, the girls team scored a total of 22 points, and an average time of 26:45 minutes.
Cross Country Results Boys
The cross country meet on September 6th was an impressive meet for the boys also! Joseph Hall ran with his exceptional skills, finishing in 15th place out of 39 boy runners, and first for Wilson. He had a time of 24:14:70. Following closely behind, Kevin Pennella secured the 17th spot, crossing the finish line with a time of 24:55:80.
The competition remained fierce as Hugh & Brett Granger, Jashawn Brayboy, Cordae Hanner, and Fahad Safdar (all placed in order of finishing) ran with determination. Together the boys illustrated teamwork, earning a total of 85 points and a 4th place finish.
With an average time of 25:59, they demonstrated their determination. However for the next meet, the runners are striving to get an even better ranking!
