Boys Track

Introducing Wilson's new head boys track coach: Aquanzia Bethea. Coach Bethea Hails is from Florence, South Carolina and is a proud father to one son, currently not married. He pursued his education at South Florence High School, continuing his academic journey at Presbyterian College and Limestone University where he not only excelled in football, but also showcased his talents in track and field.

Coach Bethea's path into coaching began when his high school coach recognized his potential and invited him to assist. Initially, coaching wasn't on his radar, but after three years of serving as an assistant coach for football, he found his calling. Bethea's relationship with the Girls’ head track coach persuaded him to take the job at Wilson High School. He arrived and immediately saw the work ethic in the kids at the school and knew it was the place for him.

 In his free time, Aquaniza enjoys gaming and indulging in literature. One challenge he faces in coaching is witnessing his athletes chase their dreams, which can be emotionally taxing. However, his coaching philosophy is straightforward: honesty, authority, and pushing athletes to reach their fullest potential. Coach Bethea leads by example, never asking his athletes to do anything he would not do himself. He  is eagerly anticipating the upcoming season, ready to guide his team to success with his dedication and passion for the sport. The Coach holds a strong belief in the dedication of his athletes, recognizing their hard work and also commending the diligent coaching staff. His motto regarding preparation is simple yet powerful: "If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready."
